Manual lifting operations, how to ease the work of operators?

Manual lifting problems...

In some sectors such as construction or mining, manual lifting operations are common. Whether using pulley systems or pole-mounted winches, operators must connect the load to be lifted to the various systems and operate a crank or handwheel to move the load. This is a tedious and repetitive operation that can be difficult to perform if the load and/or the height is high.

In general, it is the manoeuvre manager who is responsible for this operation, first of all he ensures the application of the PPSPS, the Special Health and Safety Protection Plan, it is the document that makes it possible to assess occupational risks. In a second step, it triggers the manoeuvre. Then he slings the load himself, lifts it up and directs it until the load is deposited.

... and their solutions.

Modec recommends the use of a portable valve actuator with a small torque to operate all types of valves, handwheels, cranks, etc. Our JA73 actuator is electrically powered and equipped with a long battery life. It is also possible to equip it with a digital lathe counter and a torque limiter that allows it to be adapted to any type of application, enhancing the operator's safety.

Thanks to our solutions, we act on the lifting part of the operation, which makes the load lifting quicker and effortless.

This application can be used on construction sites where heavy loads must be lifted over several floors. But also on drilling and mining sites where, in order to develop the bottom of the mine (underground area where galleries, drilling machines and miners are located), operators located in the daytime part (area where surface installations are located) regularly lower and raise equipment, minerals and personnel. These round trips are operated thanks to a pulley system installed in the extraction machines which can be easily automated thanks to our portable rotary actuator.
