When we developed our new portable valve actuator, our primary objective was to ensure operators’ safety and preserve the integrity of our customers' valves. To do so, we gathered feedbacks from our customers and designed a more efficient, practical and effective tool in line with their image.
Thanks to the portable valve actuators, operators no longer have to perform long and arduous operations. Repetitive movements to open and close valves are almost non-existent and the risk of accidents or musculoskeletal disorders are eliminated. Since the operator no longer needs to force to operate the valve or handwheel, tendonitis of the elbow or hip pain are no longer a risk because the effort is made by the tool and not by the operator.
In the case where the flywheels are located in steam networks or in power plants, the actuator allows to no longer be in contact with the heated surface. The operator no longer has to touch or handle the hot steering wheel, thus avoiding the risk of burns.
In order to avoid the risk of accidents, injuries or occupational diseases related to the handling of valves and handwheels, the use of a suitable tool is necessary. Thanks in particular to our wide range of accessories, options and torque recovery systems, our MC89 portable electric valve actuator can be adapted to almost any configuration and in any field.
If you are looking for a simple and safe solution for handling manual valves, our electric actuator saves time and allows you to operate even valves that require high torque with great ease. It guarantees people and equipment safety, and the company improves its productivity.
Although compact and lightweight, the MC89 portable electric valve actuator can deliver up to 900 Nm of torque. It is therefore essential, for the operator's safety, to use an appropriate torque reaction system for its environment and application.
To address this safety issue, Modec has developed a standard range of torque reaction system that can be adapted to most situations.
Our actuators are very powerful tools that can deploy very high torque to unlock or operate difficult valves. Our tool - essential to operators - allows to improve their daily work and limit the risks they face: risk of injury, risk of occupational diseases, risk of damaging the equipment…
Safety being our priority, we insist on the fact that it is essential to use a torque reaction system when using our portable actuators. In order to fit all the applications, we have developed a wide range of torque reaction system, but if none of our standard solutions suits you, our design office can develop customised ones on demand as well as flanges
By default, our actuators come with a torque recovery arm to control the force applied to the valve. Thanks to a strap fixed on the end of the arm and on a fixed point in the working environment, the operator is not exposed to the reaction torque, especially in the end.
This telescopic metal arm is placed between a vehicle's trailer hitch and the portable valve actuator. This configuration is ideal for valves buried under the roadway, or for any valve with the handwheel facing upwards.
This torque reaction system does not require a connection point in the environment. It is the operator's own weight that blocks the torque recovery system by standing on the foot attached to the actuator flange. This configuration can therefore be used in any environment, even if it is not attached.
Designed for underground network valves, it allows easy and safe operation for any actuator used with the telescopic fountain key. Lightweight and foldable, it is easy to transport thanks to its wheels, it does not take up any space and is ready to use in a few seconds using knurled screws. Once in place, the operator does not support the torque or even the weight of the tool. This is the ideal configuration for hydrant men.
This bipod is simple to use, lightweight, easily dismantled and space-saving, it is designed to adapt to the widest range of situations. Thanks to its two telescopic feet and its flange which can be placed in any direction, it allows the torque to be easily returned to the floor, the wall, etc.
Our new electric portable valve actuator with a torque of up to 900 Nm, has an electronic torque limiter.
The torque (1 to 12) and speed (1 to 4) adjustment knobs provide different rotational speeds and torque limits. An audible signal sounds and the actuator stops when the setting is reached. The tool only restarts after releasing and pulling the trigger.
This beep may also indicate that the required starting torque is too high (in this case the device does not start and the signal sounds), or that the device is overloaded.
These functions provide very effective protection for the equipment (no risk of breaking the valve) but also for the operators, since the actuator stops by itself when it reaches its defined maximum setting.
When handling valves on the road, it is essential to protect operators from traffic risks. Operators need to keep their attention on their environment, which is why our portable valve actuator is an essential tool for operators. It is quick and easy to install and allows operators to handle the valves while remaining alert. In addition, the operation takes on average 10 times less time than manually. The operator is therefore less exposed to a possible danger for a shorter period of time.
At modec, we know that not all valves are easily accessible. That's why we have developed accessories and actuator heads to make it easier to handle valves located in tight spaces or at height.
For example, our right angle allows the actuator to be rotated 90° for optimal operator position. No matter if the valves are close to the ground or high up, handling is made easier.
As you will have understood, there is nothing better than the MC89 electric portable valve actuator with its dedicated accessories to operate the valves in all the fields. It is about guaranteeing the safety and productivity of our customers and future customers with a more efficient, practical and effective tool.
